We ARE buying books for cash or store credit. For CDs and DVDs, we are only offering store credit.

Big Star Books and Music buys used books, CDs, and DVDs.

We offer store credit or cash. If you have a handful of books or a few boxes, bring them in any time. We buy during all business hours, which is 10am—7pm every day of the week.

If you have more than 10 boxes, give us a call so we can make some space in the store for you. Have too many to bring in? Call us for a house appointment.

While we are very glad to look at mostly everything you're ready to part with, we can't accept the following:

• magazines

• romance novels

• out-of-date textbooks

• heavily damaged items

For items we cannot use or do not need, we can donate them. Just let us know and we're happy to do so.

Here are some tips for bringing in books:

• Use boxes, not bags. Paper bags tend to rip unless you only have a few books, and the sharp corners tear through plastic and garbage bags. Books get damaged more in bags of any kind than they do in boxes. Plus, it's very hard for us to stack bags neatly!

• Bankers boxes are the best for transporting books. Larger boxes may seem better as you can fit more books in one, but they get extremely heavy and hard to move. Save your back, and ours, some pain, and use bankers boxes or something of similar size.

• We like clean books, but we'll still look at your marked-up and highlighted books.

• You don't need to separate your books by subject. We look at each individual book, so the order isn't important.
