Big Star Books & Music is located in Santa Fe's historical Railyard District across from Tomasita's Restaurant. For 10 years, we have been based in a charming little white-and-blue bungalow-esque house.
We stock used books and CDs and offer cash or store credit for your used books and CDs.
Big Star was voted "Best Used Bookstore that’s Sure to Charm You" by the Santa Fe Reporter:
"Located in the Railyard neighborhood, Big Star occupies a small house that stands alone on a semi-busy corner. It’s a white house with a blue door and blue trimming; sunflowers grow in the front lawn; a sign outside of it simply says “Books.” The porch is full of discounted books on carts. Inside, one finds nice wood floors and a cozy setup. Given its size, Big Star has a vast collection of high-quality and affordable used books. Here you might find everything, from first editions to recent best sellers. They have a comprehensive selection of most genres, a good number of audio books and, for all those wary of advancements in technology, a healthy library of CDs and cassettes. You may find yourself losing track of time, but don’t worry: It’s a part of the charm. (NA)"

Big Star Books & Music is one of Santa Fe's only stores for used CDs.
We carry everything from rock and pop to opera and classical, from world music and Putumayo to local musicians.
Our collection is always changing, and we offer a state-of-the-art (...a portable CD player with headphones) "Listening Station" so you can preview new finds. Come pick up forgotten favorites and discover new loves!
By the way — we offer store credit or cash for CDs we need or want. Bring yours in any time!
We are beyond excited to share our latest acquisition: four books signed by J.K. Rowling. The signed editions are:
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Each book is in nearly perfect condition, and appears to have never been read. Rowling signed each in pen, save for the first, Sorcerer's Stone, which she signed in black permanent marker. All four books are hardcovers with dust jackets.
If you are a Potterhead, or a fan of children's literature, epic stories, literary history, autographed books, or J.K. Rowling herself, these are a fabulous addition to your collection.
Prices are available on request for each individual book as well as the set.
